Holidays can offer a great opportunity for kids to learn about our culture and history.
Here are six kids crafts to celebrate the 4th of July.
1. HOME (+ HANDS) OF THE BRAVE
Your child will love watching their handprints transform into an Eagle!
Incorporate a patriotic saying like “Home of the Brave.” Or if you want to be extra creative, try “Hands of the Brave.”
2. HANDPRINT FIREWORK
Have your child paint their hand and turn it into a firework on paper.
Tip: Write the age of your child somewhere, so you can watch how their handprint (and firework) grows over time!
3. FINGERPRINT FIREWORKS
Transform your child’s fingerprints into colorful fireworks. This is a great way for younger artists to work on their fine motor skills and creativity.
4. FORK FIREWORKS
This craft is especially fun (and less messy!) for young children. Have them use a plastic fork, dip it into colorful paint and create their own firework.
5. FOOTPRINT SPARKLER
Turn your child’s footprint into a sparkler by using crayons or glitter glue after their painted footprint has dried.
Tip: Don’t forget to write the year so you can watch their footprint grow each year.
6. PATRIOTIC HANDPRINT
Incorporate stars and stripes with your child’s handprint to celebrate the 4th of July. This offers a great opportunity for kids to work on shapes as well as their fine motor skills and creativity!
