Romona from Bulgaria

Siblings Rosalie, Rico, Ramona and Raina were born in June 2005, May 2006, August 2008, and February 2010, respectively. They are healthy children with typical physical and cognitive development. Rosalie has congenital ptosis of her right eye. The siblings were removed from their biological family in 2015 due to severe neglect and social isolation. Since that time all four children have made vast progress. Currently, Rosalie and Rico live in the same orphanage, while Ramona and Raina live in two separate foster homes.

ROSALIE is a shy, amiable girl who respects authority and is ready to lend a hand. Her expressive language has improved significantly and she initiates conversations and conveys her feelings. Rosalie is in 5th grade where she works with a resource teacher. She enjoys learning English and has shown improvement in her reading and writing skills. She loves to participate in group games, activities, and organized events, and also likes drawing, listening to music, and dancing. Rosalie has developed hygiene habits and is completely independent in taking care of herself.

RICO is a friendly, respectful boy who enjoys drawing and sports, and like his older sister, loves group activities and events. He communicates in simple sentences when at ease, but when nervous he struggles to comprehend what is being said and to fully express himself. Rico is in 4th grade where he works with a resource teacher. His reading, writing, and math skills are continually improving. He takes care of his personal hygiene and keeps his room clean with reminders.

RAMONA is a sociable, sensitive girl who is well-liked by children and adults and has many friends. She enjoys drawing, group games, and activities related to home and way of life. Ramona speaks with a good vocabulary and some pronunciation difficulties. She is in 3rd grade, knows her colors, and can count to 100. Ramona takes care of her hygiene needs independently

RAINA is a very easygoing, inquisitive child who freely engages with others, follows the rules, and understands right from wrong. She enjoys playing, running, and singing, as well as group games and activities. Raina is compassionate and helpful. She communicates well with some pronunciation difficulties and attends 1st grade where she knows most of her letters and is learning to read.

These siblings have shown immense progress over the past two years. They deserve a family environment that provides them with the support, structure and individualized attention necessary to achieve their potentials. While they do not yet understand the specifics of adoption, they share a close bond and a desire to live together as part of a true family.
