Updated Apr. 2021: We’ve met Kai before and are back with new exciting updates! Kai is an outgoing 8-year-old boy who we previously advocated for here. We recently learned much more about him during our virtual Superkids visit, so don't forget to tune in for our Facebook live presentation on Thursday, April 22! Meeting with Kai over Zoom was a joy, and he seemed to be in great spirits. When we said good morning to him, he understood the time difference and knew that it was night-time for us! What a surprise! Kai’s favorite class in school is P.E. and his favorite sport is dodgeball. He showed us how he can throw, catch, dribble, hop on one foot, and much more. He also drew us his favorite animal, Mickey Mouse. Kai was great at following directions and doesn’t exhibit any specific behavioral issues. Kai gets along well with his friends at school, likes playing hide-and-seek or tag with them outside on the playground, and seldom fights or expresses anger. Kai is able to count to 11 in English and told us that he wants to go to U.S. with superman and fly in an airplane! He has seen his friends at the children’s home get adopted and asks when he can be adopted and have a family too! Want to learn more? Please contact superkids@gladney.org for more information! Also, be sure to join our Taiwan Waiting Child Advocacy group on Facebook to see his photos and videos! Could your family be the one he longs for? Previous post: Kai is an adorable little guy who will be turning 7 years old in a couple of weeks! Kai is in the 1st grade and told us his favorite thing about school is PE and playing tag with his friends. Kai loves to play with Legos and he built a huge tower out of blocks with Bill during our visit in November! Kai also likes to watch cartoons, especially Ultraman, and play outside. He told us his favorite food was vegetables, just not eggplant! Kai has lived in the children’s home since 2017. His caregivers told us that he can get districted and frustrated easily on harder tasks or schoolwork. However, when he receives encouragement and accomplishes the task, he’s proud to show off to others. He is currently receiving academic tutoring, play therapy, and speech therapy.
