ETTA from European Union

Etta was born at 29 weeks gestation in May 2019 with congenital measles. She is blind and has been diagnosed with microcephaly and a heart murmur. In addition, she is suspected of having cerebral palsy. Sadly, the developmental gap between Etta and her age peers is steadily widening and she functions on the level of an infant. She can roll from back to belly, has head control, and sits for brief periods of time, but mostly lies or scoots on her back. Etta does not engage with her environment, does not explore, or play with objects, and does not participate in activities requiring joint attention. She communicates through crying, screaming, various sounds, and occasional laughter. Etta is fed by spoon and depends on adult care for all tasks of daily living. A family interested in adopting this sweet girl must be prepared to meet her life-long, intensive needs and to love her unconditionally.
