Alex

from Idaho

Meet Alex, a resilient teen with an amazing smile and such a kind heart! Alex (formerly Alanah) is gender fluid and currently prefers the pronouns of he/him. Alex can be rather shy when meeting new people, however once he opens up, it’s so easy to see all of his wonderful qualities. Alex has made it through some really difficult things in his young life, which has given him a profound sense of empathy, that he uses often in helping out his peers when they are struggling. Alex hasn’t had many opportunities over the past few years to try a lot of new things but is very much open to adventures and likes to stay active. He hopes that his Forever Family likes to travel, and that they really enjoy going to amusement parks. Alex would also love the opportunity to travel to Mexico to visit the beaches there, in hopes of encountering all kinds of new animals and the chance to see a whale up close! Alex is a true animal lover, and though he hopes your home may have room for a Tiger or a Snow Leopard, he says that he will understand if it doesn’t and that he’ll just make do with frequent trips to the Zoo! In his spare time, Alex likes to watch You-Tube videos or scary movies and loves to draw and listen to music. He likes Takis (the hotter, the better!) along with Sushi and Chinese food, and he has a real penchant for Jolly Ranchers candy. Alex expresses himself with body art and has some amazing piercings! He tells us that it’s important to him that an adoptive family can support that creative side of his personality. Alex has future goals of becoming either a tattoo artist, or possibly a counselor. He would like to be able to use all the hard things he has had to overcome, to help others. Once you get to know Alex, you’ll see that he has unlimited potential and that with guidance from a committed family who loves and supports him, he can most likely accomplish both! Alex needs caregivers who are good listeners and are laid back, but also have structure and clear expectations in their home. A family with strong trauma knowledge or training would be a great match for him. He is open to any kind of family make-up and wouldn’t mind having younger, school-aged, siblings in the home. A family who will support his ongoing relationships with his aunt and a few other birth relatives would be a great fit! Alex is open to Idaho families, or those from other states as well. Alex has so much potential and so much love to give! If you believe that your family has what he’s searching for and you’re excited about the possibility of adopting this deserving teen, we look forward to hearing from you!
