Melody

from Idaho

Are you looking to add a kind-hearted teen to your family? You may have seen Melody’s profile in the past. Melody has recently been doing some soul searching surrounding who she is as a person, and currently identifies as gender fluid. Melody now prefers to go by the name “Ash.” While some of Ash’s favorite activities are outdoor things like swimming, camping and hunting…this well-rounded teen is also skilled at playing Dungeons and Dragons and loves watching Stranger Things, Japanese Manga Anime’, and reading mystery novels. Ash has an amazing singing voice and participates in choir at school. She has come really far in addressing her past trauma, grief and loss and often uses her love of reading, writing and walking as coping skills when things get tough. Ash enjoys art and thinks that one day she might like to be either a painter, a singer, or some other kind of performer. This multi-talented teen is also never afraid to show off her culinary skills in the kitchen by making fantastic quesadillas, steak, cookies, brownies, and cake! Though she loves to bake, Ash has recently been working really hard to become healthier, and those who know her have really noticed the changes! Ash hopes that her adoptive family might like to travel, as she is always ready for an adventure! She would love to visit Canada, Germany, or Russia with her Forever Family in order to learn more about her own cultural heritage. When asked what her best qualities are, Ash is quick to say that they are her awesome writing skills; her ability to be a true friend; and most importantly- the fact that she always tries to remain happy even though she has been through a lot of hard times in her young life. Ash’s Permanency Team echoes those thoughts by sharing with us that she is a very resilient, nurturing and protective person. Ash LOVES animals and is looking forward to sharing life with family pets! Ash’s Permanency Team describes the ideal fit in a family for her as one who can support her on her journey of growth surrounding who she is-emotionally, academically, socially and in who she would like to grow into as she continues to navigate her teen years and beyond. Ash would love to have a two-parent home, with either a Mom and Dad, or two Moms. A home with no other children could be a great fit for her, but she is also open to a home with younger children. Ash can tend to lose her sense of self when surrounded by too many other teens, so a family who has no other teens in the home is the best fit for her. Parents with trauma knowledge, who communicate well and can provide a fun, structured home where they value her input as a part of their family would be a perfect fit for this one-of-a-kind teen. Ash has younger siblings and needs a family who can commit to supporting her ongoing relationship with them. She is open to inquiries from families in Idaho, but also from families who reside in other states. If Ash sounds like the perfect fit for your family, we can’t wait to hear from you!
