Abbie

from Pennsylvania

Abbie is looking for an exciting, adventurous and loving family that she can call her own. She describes herself as outgoing, friendly and funny. Those who know her well indicate that Abbie is an intelligent, sassy, and loving teenage girl who thrives on one-on-one attention. Abbie enjoys being outside jumping on a trampoline, going swimming or just taking in the warmth of a summer day. While inside, Abbie enjoys listening to her favorite music artist, Britney Spears, watching Disney movies like ?The Lion King,? ?Aladdin? and ?Beauty and the Beast,? and playing with her stuffed animals. She is not a picky eater; however, her favorite food is chicken wings. Abbie would like to pursue a career as a doctor or veterinarian. She stated, ?I enjoy helping others and love working with animals.? Abbie stated, ?I can have a hard time trusting others due to my past. In order to gain my trust you just have to listen to my concerns, be consistent, follow through with what you say and don't steal from me. I just want to be loved, accepted and listened to.? Abbie is very transparent and tries her very best to understand and listen to directions that are given to her. She is very open about her life and has no problem saying how she is feeling. She also stated, "I need to start taking things seriously and stop acting up. I understand that I cannot do whatever I like without consequences. I am trying my best to listen so that I can have a better future.? Abbie said that she misses being in a family setting. She misses the smells of the holidays, the movie nights on the couch, and the overall warmth she felt knowing that she was safe. Abbie would love a two-parent household who will give her their undivided attention and show her what it means to be accepted. She would like a family to know her triggers and coping skills. She wants a family to understand her past trauma and will be patient during the matching process. It is important that a family stay connected with her adoptive mother via supervised phone calls. Parental rights have not been terminated for Abbie; however, once a permanent resource is identified, the county will enact final steps to terminate parental rights. For more information, a family can call the SWAN Helpline at 1-800-585-SWAN or have the family worker contact the recruiter, Victoria Paradise, via telephone or email vparadise@casmercer.org.
