Katherine from Pennsylvania

Watch out, Miley Cyrus, there's a new singer in town! Katherine is an outgoing, talkative young lady with a strong desire to be self-sufficient and a leader. Not only does Katherine enjoy music, but she has also even written her own songs and secretly wishes to become a singer. When she's not singing and dancing, she can be found caring for others. Katherine loves caring for both people and animals. She is even a self-proclaimed "dog" and "cat-nerd." In fact, Katherine wishes to pursue a career working with animals. She has never met an animal she hasn't liked! Katherine was asked to describe herself. "I describe myself as an outgoing person, who can be playful. However, boundaries are important to me. When getting to know you, I tend to start becoming comfortable around you and being comfortable with myself." She went on to talk about her future and how excited she is to learn independent living skills. One of the most exciting things to her was being able to ride a bike. Katherine is proud of the progress that she has made towards her independence and looks forward to being helpful within a family unit. Katherine wishes to find a family who will support and encourage her to become more self-sufficient. Katherine longs for a family who will help her to feel safe and secure. Katherine is really looking forward to family bonding activities. She speaks fondly of riding her bike or going on walks. Not only is Katherine excited to be active with her new family, she is excited to chill out on the porch and get to know everyone. Katherine does wish to remain in contact with certain members of her birth family and is hoping to find a family who will foster these relationships. Parental rights have not been terminated for Katherine; however, when a permanent resource is identified the county will enact final steps to terminate parental rights.
