Gladney Superkids program is hopeful to travel to Taiwan in 2023. Please watch here for updates. If interested in volunteering, email superkids@gladney.org. Meet Alvin! Alvin is a helpful 10-year-old who enjoys going to school, watching cartoons, and playing in the water. We have extensive videos of Alvin that show him performing multiple tasks. Recently, he helped a stall owner sell her mushrooms at the market. He was able to give correct change to the customers, helped the owner keep her goods tidy, and helped put them all away when the stall closed. Alvin did an excellent job and exercises like this boost his confidence when he performs well! Alvin is also very good at putting things together like blocks and Legos. You must see his videos! Alvin has delayed language development, so therefore needs very clear instructions to process incoming information and instructions correctly. He currently receives extra Mandarin classes at school and continued language therapy will be beneficial for Alvin. Recently however, Alvin has been doing well writing in complete sentences and is showing improvements. Alvin has a brother, Albert, that he visits every 2-3 weeks. Although they have lived in separate foster homes for years, they get along well and enjoy playing together. Out of best interest for the boys, we hope they can be adopted together. If you are interested in learning more about Alvin, please contact superkids@gladney.org for more information about him becoming a part of your family! Also, be sure to join our Taiwan Waiting Child Advocacy group on Facebook to see his adorable photos and videos!
