Cheyanne from Texas

Cheyanne is an active child who enjoys playing with toys and dolls. She also enjoys the great outdoors, including taking walks in a park and taking in nature in all its wonderment. Though when inside, Cheyanne can be just as content playing with her toys, listening to her favorite music, or watching her shows. Dora the Explorer and Hello Kitty are a couple of her favorite shows. Cheyanne is diagnosed with autism. She will utilize hand signals and point to communicate what she wants or likes. Some of her favorite foods are bananas, apples, and rice. Cheyanne can be very affectionate and loves to give hugs. She often prefers to spend time alone and away from her peers; however, she will eat meals with others and shares her bedroom with peers. Cheyanne will respond to redirection when she is upset. Cheyanne will benefit from a patient forever family who will provide support as she adapts to changes, transitions, and in her communication.

Cheyanne's forever family will provide consistency and structure. It would be beneficial for her family to have experience with non-verbal children diagnosed with Autism. The best fit for Cheyanne will be a family who is also knowledgeable on Type 1 diabetes. She will need time to adapt and develop trust with her caregivers. Her family will provide supervision and guidance on respecting others' belongings. Her family will devote a lot of time and support to Cheyanne. They will continue to provide long-term support and continue to assist her as she grows into adulthood.
