Diego from Texas

Diego loves all things superheroes! He loves talking about and collecting superhero memorabilia. His favorite superhero is Batman, but it used to be Spider-Man. Which means Diego is open to your family whether you are a DC or Marvel Universe family! He considers himself a bit of a movie buff, especially the horror genre. Diego loves comic books along with Yu-Gi-Oh and Dragon Ball Z. He is interested in collecting Pokemon cards right now and dinosaur toys. Diego can become upset when his routine is broken or when things don't go as he prepared for, but he can be easily redirected. He is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Diego has made tremendous progress and does well in school. When Diego is comfortable with someone, he enjoys making them laugh and will keep you laughing all day. His interests change often as he is exposed to new things. Diego enjoys going to movie theatre, bowling, and swimming. He's been to Fiesta Texas and he was fearless when it came to the rides! Diego loves Halloween and has been to Fright Night at the amusement park.

Diego needs a family who is patient and loving. A family with experience or knowledge of Autism will be extremely beneficial. Diego will thrive in either a city or country environment. He gets along well with other children and will benefit from the socialization having siblings would offer. Diego will do well in a single or two-parent household. While Diego responds well to female authority in school, he would do well having a father-figure in the home, as he tends to bond to available male adults. Diego has experience living with dogs, cats and rabbits, but can be a bit skittish when meeting new animals. Diego does not like birds because he thinks they are too noisy. He would be open to a family who has pet tarantulas or snakes; or other animals who are not too noisy. Diego will need time to adjust to any new environment. He does well with responsibility, when his responsibilities start small and build up. Diego does well on outings, but needs a family who will keep close watch on him. He does very well in familiar places. A family who has a set routine, can prepare him for different adventures, and be amenable to his needs will be best.
