Gia from Texas

Gia enjoys playing with others, shopping, and puppies and purses. She is always excited to show off her extensive stuffed animal collection. Gia's communication skills and life skills continue to improve. She can utilize coping skills that she has developed with the assistance of her caregivers to remain calm in situations that can become challenging for her. She is a happy and friendly child who is diagnosed as on the Autism Spectrum. She is lovely and gives big hugs to people she knows and is comfortable around. She is verbal and able to communicate her thoughts and needs. She enjoys talking with others and asking about their day. Gia does require frequent reminders to use the restroom, although she can do so on her own when she chooses to. Gia will be a great addition to a loving and caring forever family.

Gia's forever family will be patient and understanding. Gia's family will provide constant supervision and structure to ensure her safety and well-being. Her family will utilize positive reinforcement. Her family will be academically involved and allow her to socialize and participate in supervised activities to help build her social skills and develop positive and healthy relationships. Providing Gia with choices, rather than telling her to correct her behavior will allow her the opportunity to experience positive interactions with others. Gia's family will be supportive of her continuing positive relations.
