Melissa from Texas

Melissa has an openly affectionate personality with everyone she meets and has a bubbly demeanor. She is a happy girl who can verbally communicate her wants, needs, likes and dislikes. Melissa requires ongoing supervision to keep her safe with healthy boundaries. She enjoys activities such as shopping, dressing up, and manicures or pedicures. Melissa has fun going out to eat, and she most recently got to enjoy going on rides at the amusement park. She likes all things unicorns, pets, and loved the snow. Melissa has a new tablet and loves playing games, listening to music, and watching videos on YouTube. Melissa can complete age appropriate and simple household tasks, such as making her bed, folding her clothes and vacuuming. She looks forward to going to school. Melissa is diagnosed with Williams Syndrome, a genetic chromosome disorder which makes her very outgoing and trusting even to her detriment. She needs supervision and adults to keep her safe with healthy boundaries. Melissa will benefit from a single mom or two-parent home. Additionally, the family interested in Melissa will need the ability to educate themselves on her diagnosis as she will likely need long-term care into adulthood.
