Alexis “Lexie”, Age 15 My Favorite Things: I like being with animals and horseback riding. I like drawing and watching movies. I like Hallmark movies and I like the TV show Heartland. Things I do not like: I do not like hiking. I don’t like Sushi. I don’t like Kambucha. Big dogs can be scary for me at first. Favorite Foods: I like home made lasagna and homemade mac & cheese. I like spicy Mexican food and Chinese food. What I want in a family: I want a family that has animals. Cats, dogs and rabbits are my favorites. I would like to live with a family that either likes horses or has horses. I would like to have a younger brother, or maybe an older (Young adult) sibling. I would like to have either two moms or a mom and a dad. What I want families to know about me: I am very involved in the LGBTQ+ community activities, so a family that is supportive of those issues is very important to me. I do work with sexual assault awareness both at school and in my community. I can be very shy when first meeting people, but I am very talkative once I get to know people. That we want families to know about the youth: Lexie is very sweet and has made an impression on all of her team. Lexie would do well in a two parent family. Parents who can provide structure, maintain boundaries, and who are both active in parenting are the best fit for Lexie. A solid understanding of trauma informed parenting would be very helpful to Lexi and her prospective family. A family that is able to support healthy connections within her birth family would be a great comfort to Lexi.
