Here is a short timeline of our last nine years together falling in love, getting married, traveling, having kids and just living.
We've been married since 2012 and have grown stronger each year.

Providing our children with adventure, learning opportunities, music, love, laughter and friendship is not only our biggest priority but our biggest source of joy. We have been blessed with two beautiful boys born in 2016 and 2018. However, we know that there is still a big space missing in our family and in our hearts. We are hoping that out there somewhere is a little girl that can join our family and that someday our little boys can have little sisters to love and protect. I can promise that there won't be a little girl in the world with more adoring older brothers or more loving parents.

Cami Cool Cats is a smile that lights up the room, adventures you never thought you would take, a memory that never forgets a birthday, a heart that never fails to send a gift and a kind card or visit you when your sick with a warm meal, arms that never fail to hold you when you need them most and so much more. She is the soul of our family and is my very best friend. Our children are amazingly kind, thoughtful, fun, funny and adventurous and it is all due to their amazing mother. She loves music (piano teacher), avidly collects records from tiny record shops all around the world, loves arts and crafts with our boys, singing karaoke… I could just go on for days. Her most recent quirk that I love about her is her obsession with K (Korean) Drama tv shows. She’s even got me to love them too. ❤️ you cool cats!

Matt (dad) is the cutest nerd ever born. He’s a software engineer, grows a great beard, and can plan the greatest vacation and will spend hours working and researching the best options. He is currently passing down his love of chess and Pokemon to our 5 year old son. His favorite past time is cuddling with the boys, playing games and getting big hugs as soon as he walks in the door from work. Matt reads Brandon Sanderson novels like its his job. His favorite place on earth is Lake Powell and loves “Life Aquatic.” His treat of choice is Dr. Pepper or Oreos with a fork slid into the middle and dipped in milk. He loves basketball, golf, Bill Murray, and me :)

I find it hard to express the feelings, hopes and emotions I have around the future relationship we hope to have with potential birth parents. At the core of it is a deep desire to keep the beautiful connection between a child and their birth parents alive and a part of their identity. It is very important to us that any expectant parent considering adoption knows that we take that responsibility very seriously and it is very dear to our hearts. We have lost a daughter and our hearts ache to know more about where she is now and who is looking after her in heaven and we wish so bad we could give her a message of love. That ability is something we will always protect and provide for any birth parent. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read this letter. We are writing on behalf of Matt and Cami McArthur. As Cami’s parents, we are so excited and supportive of her and Matt’s decision. Cami is our 5th daughter of 5 with a younger brother. From Cami’s earliest age and through out her life, she has the most wonderful and happy personality. She always finds a way to find beauty in everything around her yet is spontaneous and adventuresome. Because of her love and happiness, little children have always been drawn to her because they feel safe and secure and sense her immediate and unconditional love. As we have watched her with her two little boys, she exhibits wonderful patience and takes the time to understand them and explain to them in a way they can understand why and how things happen. As Matt’s parents-in-law for the past 9 years, we have happily witnessed two people who are so perfectly matched for each other. Matt senses how he can help with the children, perceives what their needs might be and then patiently helps them. He possesses a natural leadership quality that draws people to him. He approaches his work with a quiet confidence that creates confidence in those around him including fellow workers and clients. He is also the first to offer to help at all our family events setting a great example for everyone. We are so grateful to him for his example, support, reliability and selflessness. Their mutual respect is evident and they work beautifully as a team. We cannot say enough about their kindness and nurturing characteristics. We, as grandparents, are so happy to lend support in any way we can. Living less than one hour away provides us the opportunity to assist and enjoy sharing our love with them and their children. A new child in their home would be a blessing to us all and this baby would be showered with love and affection. Cami and Matt are uncle and aunt to 12 nieces and nephews. Cami and Matt are some of the very best, kindest, smartest, most caring, loving, fun, and hard working people I know. I have rarely seen such gentle and reliable parents. I know, without a doubt, that their family and home is a place of safety, joy, and love. I couldn’t be happier for them as they go on this journey. And I’m so excited to meet my new niece! It is an honor to recommend Matt and Cami as parents. I have known this family for years. They are authentic, real, and kind. Cami is a natural nurturer and my kids consider her a close friend and confidant. My oldest will often say, “I can’t wait to tell Cami!” whenever exciting things happen to her. She has taught my kids piano for years. I have 4 kids with 4 different personalities- and she has found such beautiful ways to connect with each of them. Matt is kind to the core with a great sense of humor. I look forward to time spent with Matt because I know it will be fun, witty, and real. I look forward to his Halloween costume every year. He is a thoughtful and caring father- always there for his boys. The personality combination of the McArthurs makes everyone feel at ease, comfortable, and loved. Their two boys are their whole world- and you see that in the way they parent. This family is a joy. We love the McArthurs with our whole heart and can’t wait to love their new addition as well. Love isn’t something you just say around this family, you just always feel it. On a recent trip to Yellowstone with the McArthurs, Cami took this photo of our family. It’s a treasure.

Halloween Party with the Neighborhood Kids
The boys and I threw a “Spooky Halloween Pumpkin Party” for our neighborhood today! The boys took the lead on it and picked out all the activities, games and decorations. They made a count down for three weeks leading up and could not have been more excited as they announced each morning how many days left until the party! This is the best little neighborhood with the sweetest kids! (Also, I’ll never forget each time I made a suggestion for the party, Bowie saying, “Wow! That sure is a great idea!” )
Yellowstone Summer 2021!
We just got back from a fun trip to Yellowstone National Park with some friends. Out highlights were playing crossnet (which Bowie joined in enthusiastically for hours), eating yummy homemade meals, fishing, searching for animals, hanging with good friends and ending the trip at Bear World! A new favorite spot we visited was Mesa Falls. We had never been and were beyond impressed!
