Hoping to Adopt (Texas)

Before You Go We Want You To Know

If you do decide to make an adoption plan, we want to assure you that we promise to respect you and never take for granted the gift of parenthood you will have given to us. We promise to cherish and love your child with our hearts and souls and to provide a safe, happy, home and life filled with opportunities, joy, laughter, and support. We have had adoption in our hearts for many years now and know that this is the path we are meant to be on. Adoption is a huge sacrifice and a blessing. It is a selfless decision for the birth mother who loves her child. But, at the same time, it is an amazing blessing for the family where the child is placed. All of this is out of true love from both the birth mother and from the adoptive parents. We are so excited for this amazing, crazy, journey ahead that will truly be a dream come true for us. We hope that this profile will give you a glimpse of who we are and how much love we have to give.

Home Sweet Home

Our home was built in 2013. We were able to select all the finishes in our house, so it really does reflect who we are and the style/colors we like. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a study, and a 3-car garage. We live in a suburban, gated community and have a large covered and also uncovered patio in the backyard with mature trees and space for dogs and kids to play in the grass, which is one of our favorite places about our home. The neighborhood has a great community center, which includes a large playscape, a sport court, a tennis court, and a pool. Our favorite thing about the area where we live is that it is out of the "big city," but still close enough to enjoy all that a large city has to offer. The best thing about our neighborhood is that most of the families here are around our age with children, so we constantly see people out and about in the neighborhood...it has a great community feel, and we are excited to get involved in the community activities that our neighborhood has for children. We have two dogs, Dakota and Sadie. Dakota is a black and white Terrier mix who is 13 years old. We rescued her about 10 months after getting married and shortly after buying our first home. She loves to lick toes and sleep on the couch now that she is getting a little older. Sadie is an orange and white Brittany (a bird dog) who is 6 years old. We got her from Kevin's aunt and uncle about a year after moving into our current home. She is a very energetic dog who just loves to be loved...she loves snuggles. She is also a trained quail hunting dog and will go with Kevin on quail hunts.

Why Adoption

In 2015, we decided to start trying to conceive a child, and we tried for several years, including some fertility treatments. We have had adoption in our hearts for awhile now, and feel that this is the path we are meant to follow. Being unable to conceive a child naturally was hard, but we always felt that maybe we are meant to adopt. We are so excited to become parents and share our life's journey with a child. We have seen first-hand what an amazing adventure adoption is through both sides of our family. I, Jamie, have two cousins I grew up with who were adopted, and now one of those cousins has adopted a child too. Kevin has a cousin who adopted after having two biological children, and we have watched her grow up into a lovely adult. Seeing, hearing, and experiencing the miracle of adoption has only strengthened our commitment to loving and providing for a child through adoption. Though the good times and the difficult times, there will always be unconditional love.
