Spending time as a family in the park
Hello & Thank you!

Our goal here is to give you an open and honest look at our family, our values, and how we interpret the world around us with the hope that what we have to offer aligns with what you may value for your child.

Hi! We are Kellee, Alex and Sander Parker. We live in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah with our two loving and crazy pups Lola and Charlee. This is our first journey into adoption and we are certainly nervous but, couldn’t be more excited about a sibling for Sander and adding another child to our loving family. We realize how incredibly difficult this decision is, both mentally and physically and have nothing but the utmost respect for what you are going through. As much as we want to add a child to our family, we want to make sure we do right by you and your unique situation. Our goal here is to give you an open and honest look at our family, our values, and how we interpret the world around us with the hope that what we have to offer aligns with what you may value for your child.

Our Story and Who We Are

We are approaching our 10 year wedding anniversary this September and reflect on a lifetime of ups and downs, love and loss and adventure together.

Exploring new places together
We were high school sweethearts from Colorado, and now at 36 we have spent more of our lives together than apart. We both attended the University of Oregon and since have worked, lived, and travelled together across the country and world. Kellee followed her passion and her hard work lead her to a rewarding career in pediatric oncology. Alex has worked in the outdoor industry for more than a decade and has supported Kellee down the grueling path of a medical career. He is currently a stay at home dad to Sander and runs his own small photography business. We are approaching our 10 year wedding anniversary this September and reflect on a lifetime of ups and downs, love and loss and adventure together.
Our View on Life

We believe in a life filled with adventure, that experience can be the best teacher, that the world is a place to be explored, and that a home is a place of grounding, comfort and love.

Out on an adventure with Sander and the pups
We believe in a life filled with adventure, that experience can be the best teacher, that the world is a place to be explored, and that a home is a place of grounding, comfort and love. From a young age, we have been fortunate to have had the means and opportunity to travel and experience parts the world. From Europe and Africa to Asia and South America we believe it is important to experience the world outside of what we know. We love playing in the great outdoors. We are a family of runners, skiers, climbers, bikers, hikers, and campers and believe in the therapy and lessons that outdoor adventures can provide.

While our passions and hobbies bring us afar at times, we still spend the majority of our time grounded in the routine of life at home. Every day as a photographer/caretaker and oncologist, we foster creativity and see the value of hard work. We value our family time spent relaxing at the house as a family, cooking meals and playing games. While we try to instill the best of us in our kids, ultimately their path in life is their own. No matter what path that may be, we strive to create an environment that is supportive, stable, extraordinary and loving above all else.
Why Adoption & Our Commitment to You

We will encourage your child to take chances, explore their world to find their place in it, and wander the path that lets them become who or whatever they choose.

Making the most of life during treatment
From very early on in our relationship, we thought our path to children and a family would be through adoption. Kellee had a past medical condition that, at the time, would have made having biological children difficult. Fortunately her health issues resolved to the point where we were able to have a healthy child of our own in Sander. However, shortly after her pregnancy, Kellee was diagnosed, treated for, and ultimately overcame breast cancer. While Kellee fought and won her battle with cancer, the treatment has left her unable to reasonably have a second biological child. Knowing there are so many children in the world that are in need of a loving and caring family, for a myriad of reasons, we believe that adoption is the right path forward for our family.

We don’t know you yet and can only sympathize with what you are going through. We can’t begin to understand how difficult this process is, but it goes without saying that we will love your child as our own. We recognize the uniqueness of the situation and want you to know that we will respect you and your relationship with your child. We are committed to giving your child all the same opportunities to thrive that we had and they will be given never-ending support in life’s endeavors. We will encourage your child to take chances, explore their world to find their place in it, and wander the path that lets them become who or whatever they choose.

Recommendations

Kellie Knapp (Mom of one of Kellee's pediatric cancer patients)

I am honored to enthusiastically recommend Kellee and Alex for becoming adoptive parents. They are, simply put, the VERY best. Kellee is a rare and inspiring combination of fun, nurturing, confident, and brilliant… all smushed together inside her hugely kind heart. In the two very worst moments of my entire life, when I wasn't sure my son would live, Kellee was there, confidently executing life saving measures while simultaneously comforting and emotionally supporting me through it all. Her expertise and skill, combined with the love she shows to her patients and their families is a testament to the beautifully dynamic person and doctor she is. Alex is, obviously, the smartest person ever for choosing Kellee to build the most beautiful life and family with. Both Kellee and Alex are resilient, educated, loving, adventurous, thoughtful, hardworking, curious, and so fun. Above all, they are the BEST parents, and I could not be more excited for the sweet baby that gets to call them Mom and Dad.

About Kellee (According to Alex)

Kellee is truly one of the worlds amazing people. She is driven, loving, empathetic and tough. One needs to look no further than her chosen profession as a pediatric oncologist, a job that only very special people are meant for. A job that demands compassion, strength, intelligence, thoughtfulness, and the natural ability to provide a sense of comfort and ease. Kellee is tough. This last year she overcame breast cancer and all the chemo treatments, medicines, and surgeries that entails, all without complaint and saw her diagnosis as a way to better relate to her patients. She did this all while maintaining her job as an oncologist and continuing to be a loving and attentive mother. As important as her career is, it pales in comparison to the undeniable love and excitement she has as a mother to Sander. Get to know Kellee and you will see why everyone she meets loves her. It is too easy to shower Kellee with superlatives, but her pure kindness, empathy and thoughtfulness are the reasons I love her so much and what makes her at her best as a mother.

About Alex (According to Kellee)

Alex is the most supportive and loving spouse, father, son and friend. We have been together and best friends since we were in high school and he has only grown and continue to impress me. I have gone through multiple health issues in life and the fact that he has not only stuck around, but has just been incredible and nurturing through it all shows everything that is amazing about him. He can be quiet but also talkative and funny. He is sensitive and not afraid to show emotion. He would do anything for me, Sander, our pets, our families and our friends. He does everything he can to make life easier for me. He is the best father and it has been so fun getting to see him blossom as a parent to a child that adores him. He is incredibly smart. We share many passions in life, but he also has his unique goals and aspirations. It has been so fun to see him cultivate his talent in photography into a successful small business. He was born to be a father and I cannot wait to see him with two kiddos!

About Sander

Sander is a bright and energetic, just turned 2 year old boy. He is bright eyed with a happy disposition and has the cutest giggle. He lights up in new places and experiences and we get to see his brain developing and the wheels turning every day. He is so fun but still very much a toddler and constantly has us on our toes and adapting our parenting practices. He is very social and thrives around other kids. He attends a Japanese daycare that he absolutely loves and learns so much there. Raising him and witnessing his development daily has been our greatest joy in life.

Our Big Family

We believe we are a product of our family and the people around us. Kellee’s comes from a very tight knit and close family in nearby Colorado. Her parents come from humble beginnings and became successful lawyers and are the most supportive, eager and proud parents/grandparents one could ask for. Alex lost his mother suddenly in 2015 and his father lives just up the hill in Park City as a retired writer and loves to spend as much time as possible with his grandson. Our extended family stretches across the country and many have direct experience with adoption, giving us our first window into the adoption path and have been a great resource as we start this journey. While our extended family may not be here with us, our chosen family in Utah is made up of the best, most supportive people. They have gotten us through some of the hardest moments in our lives and comprise an amazing support system and we couldn't be more proud to call them family.

Our Home

We live in the wonderful state of Utah. We are just minutes away from breathtaking landscape, hiking trails, camping and a world of exploration. We are centrally located in the West with numerous national parks and other natural destinations within a weekends grasp. Our home is situated centrally to the Salt Lake Valley and falls within a great school district. We have been fortunate and lucky to have moved into a neighborhood that has parks within walking distance and that is full of supportive people and kids of all ages. We have a community of the best friends anyone could ask for and are so proud of our chosen family. We couldn’t be happier to call this place home and are so excited to watch our family explore this giant playground we call home.
