Our family
From dating to getting married to growing our family through adoption, here is a brief glimpse into our family.

Letter

Hello! We're Luke, Lynnece, Lachlan, Jay, and Grayson! We can't wait to meet you!
To our dear friends: thank you!

Thank you for helping bring a miracle to pass for a family who will love you forever.

To our dear friends: Thank you for your love, your courage, and your faith as you consider what must be a very difficult decision in your life. Though we don’t know you yet personally, we love and admire you, we pray for you, and we honor you as heroes.

We are eternally grateful for adoption: to us, it’s nothing short of a miracle! All three of our sons came to us through adoption: Lachlan at first, then Jay and Grayson as a twins-package-deal! These boys bring indescribable happiness and joy to our lives—we can’t imagine not having them in our family. The incredible love of their birth parents and birth grandparents made that possible. More about us

We love our family, we love life, and we love the Lord.

Here we are on our wedding day, happy to hold each other by the hand and take on life's adventures together!
We see each day as an opportunity to work hard, play hard, and simply enjoy life! We love taking on challenges (like running a small business), seeing new places (we love to travel), and most of all, spending time with the most important people in the world: our family.

We are so grateful for the peace and perspective that our testimonies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ bring to our lives. With Him we know that all things are possible! We are also very blessed to have amazing parents, siblings, and extended family who we love and have been a great support to us in our lives.

What do we like to do? In a typical year you may find us four-wheeling at the family cabin near Bryce Canyon, sledding down the snowy hills of Bloomington Idaho, deep sea fishing on the Sea of Cortez, playing fun board games on the weekend with friends, going up the canyon with family to roast marshmallows, or cheering on the Utah Jazz from our living room couch. Here below are a few more fun facts to help you get to know us better:

Why we love each other

We know you have such a great love for your child, and are humbled by your selfless sacrifice.

Though we spend lots of time together as a family, we also love doing things together just the two of us! Here we are on a trip we took to Sarasota, Florida for Luke's 40th birthday!
WHY I LOVE LYNNECE

Being married to Lynnece has brought me indescribable joy and happiness: I hit the jackpot when she agreed to marry me! A great word that describes Lynnece is “strong.” She is firm and unwavering in her faith and testimony. She is never idle and is always working around the house or yard, or spending her time doing worthwhile things. And she leads out in our family by making sure that we are always having fun! Because of her I have seen more places in the world in the dozen years we have been married than in my previous years combined!

Not only is Lynnece an amazing wife, she is an incredible mom! Which makes me love her all the more. I love seeing how she interacts with our sons. Whether she’s patiently teaching them how to obey, showing them how to pray, or how to kick the soccer ball around in the yard, she’s definitely found her calling in life being a mom. She has a great sense of humor, she loves to laugh and makes me laugh on a daily basis. People love being around her because she is so easy-going and so easy to like. She is always there by my side, supporting me no matter what challenges life brings. I love her so much! Because of her, my life is truly blessed.

WHY I LOVE LUKE

I attended many single's wards and went on countless blind dates before meeting Luke, but he turned out to be a man worth waiting for! I was attracted to him from the beginning because he was patient and kind and treated me with respect. We also had a lot in common, including our goals and dreams and our desire to live the gospel principles. He is a man who honors his priesthood and presides over our family with love and righteousness. He works hard to provide for us and is honest in his dealings with others. He is a good communicator and is always good at helping me work through things.

The two of us make a good team when there is a job to be done, and we have really enjoyed working together decorating our home and making it an enjoyable place to live.

I love that Luke is so patient with our boys and helps in teaching them right from wrong. It's always fun watching him play with them, and to see how much they love being with him. Our love for each other has grown as we've worked together to raise these boys, and I know it will continue to grow as we add to our family with more children.

WHY WE LOVE OUR BOYS
FROM LYNNECE

Our sons' birth parents and grandparents have become a part of our lives and I am so grateful to them for the sacrifice they made that gave me the opportunity to be a mother! I still have days where I look at my sons and feel an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude to have them in my life. Being a mom is a challenge, but they make me laugh every day! I love them so much and love each day that I get to spend with them.

FROM LUKE

Growing up, there were two things I desired most in life: to be a husband, and to be a father. Adoption helped my dream of becoming a dad come true! I still stand in awe at the amazing love our sons' birth parents had to place them into our family, and like Lynnece am eternally grateful to them!

Being a dad is the best thing ever! And it’s all because of these three wonderful, unique little boys. I didn’t know I had such a capacity to love until I got married, and then that love grew when I became a dad. And that love grows every day! I’m so grateful to have these three boys as my sons, and am also excited at the prospect of feeling this amount of love for another little son or daughter!
We love adoption!

We're so grateful to have these three as our sons, and are excited at the prospect of feeling this amount of love for another little son or daughter.

Words cannot describe the amount of love we have for our three sons! They bring laughter to our home each day, and have brought joy to our hearts for a lifetime.
We desired to be parents right from the start. It was a long and discouraging road as we went to different doctors and tried different treatments with no results. We prayed for guidance to know what was the right path to build our future family. When we finally considered adoption, we felt a spiritual confirmation as well as an overwhelming feeling of excitement: we knew that was the right direction to go. Although the process wasn't easy, the experience is one that we will never forget and cherish forever. We are so, so grateful for adoption!

WE LOVE OPEN ADOPTION

We also believe strongly in the benefits and blessings of an open-adoption relationship, not only because we’ve seen it bless the life of our three boys, but also because we’ve had such an amazing experience getting to know their birth parents and grandparents! We see them all several times a year, and absolutely love them. They are an important, special part of our family!

THANK YOU

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! We know you have such a great love for your child, and are humbled by your selfless sacrifice. Words cannot describe how grateful we are to you. Whatever decision you make or wherever this journey takes you, we know that it will be one inspired by the Lord.

We love you, and look forward to meeting you!

Love,
Luke, Lynnece, Lachlan, Jay, and Grayson

Travel is a big part of our lives, we love planning our next trip. Whether just the two of us, or taking the three boys, we love seeing what's out there! Here we are at Lake Tahoe.
Our boys love to do crafts, they are often found coloring or cutting paper or painting something. They even go to an art class once a week which they love.
Took the boys to Legoland, our boys are constantly playing with Lego blocks and love Lego Ninjago. Legoland? Mom and Dad didn't love so much, but the boys would go back in a heartbeat!
Went to a sheepdog tournament! Because we like to do fun, unusual things together! They had face painting, Lachlan loves cheetahs, Jay rainbows (or anything golden), and Grayson snakes!
We take turns taking the boys on date nights, Lachlan loves "breakfast dinner" and often chooses to go to IHOP for his date.
Every morning we do "Scripture Power" with the boys. We started this just a little over a month ago and love starting our day out right.
We are loyal Utah Jazz fans! We try and catch a game or two at the arena, and many more on TV!
Luke is a graphic designer, and Lynnece a good fine artist, so we can't just leave the walls bare! Here we painted Grayson's dinosaur room, we love working together on projects like this!
Bloomington, Idaho is one of our favorite places in the world. Luke's mom grew up there, and now his parents built a home and live there! The old family farm is seen here in the distance.
We like to camp up the canyon, but sometimes even just the backyard can be fun! Sleeping outside? In tents?! The boys were in heaven.
Summer time is our favorite time of year, whether it's playing in the sprinklers in our backyard, going up the canyon, or visiting the waterpark, we love the warm weather!
Working together as a family is one of our favorite things to do. Here Luke backed his truck full of playground sand so we could shovel it into the sandbox ship below!
Music is a big part of our lives, Lachlan takes piano lessons, Luke plays saxophone and piano, Lynnece plays piano and violin, and Luke's mom is a piano teacher (pictured here with Lachlan).
Our cats Olaf and Stitch, here they are as kittens. Every morning the boys wake up and smother these felines with unconditional love. And the cats love us right back, they are very friendly!
Lynnece is seriously an amazing chef, I (Luke) always prefer her meals over going out to a restaurant to eat. Now to just convince the boys of her cooking greatness!
On our back deck roasting marshmallows for S'mores! We love spending time outside together as a family, even if it's just our own backyard.
Date night! Here we are with our best friends on a fun date night to an escape room. We love getting together with friends to play games and have grownup time now and then!
We love to go on four-wheeling adventure rides at the family cabin near Bryce Canyon. The three boys soak in every minute and never complain, even on all day rides.
Luke loves Star Wars so much he got two of his siblings to go surprise their brother in Nashville a week before Christmas. Fun story!
Fishing! Deep sea fishing in Mexico with Lynnece's dad as captain has always been one of our funnest adventures.

Elly (Jay & Grayson birth mom)

When I first was trying to decide on placing the twins for adoption I had a list of qualities, attributes, and lifestyles that I wanted for the twins and the parents I would like to raise them. My dad sent me a list of people looking to adopt and Luke and Lynnece were on that list. I reached out to them, met them in person one time, and would email back and forth. Their communication is fantastic and they are very respectful of what you are comfortable with. Besides a feeling I had about them, I really connected with them on their story and then what just put the cherry on top was the name for the boys. I was asked what I would name the babies and I came up with Jay & Grayson. I asked what they would want to name them and they said, Jay & Grayson. I knew that they were meant to be their parents. Luke and Lynnece are all about family. They want to include you. They want as many people to love this child. They have been so great and including my family in life events or having get-togethers to see the boys. They respect you, love you, and care for you.

Brother

Luke and Lynnece are both loving parents and seek to make every day a joy for their family. Because Luke is my older brother, I have seen him go through the ups and downs of life throughout the years. In spite of life's many challenges, he has always remained optimistic and has stayed close to his faith and family. He has always been a great role model for his younger siblings by going to college, finding a great spouse, starting his own business, and desiring to have children. When he met Lynnece our family was so happy for him because of the joy she brought into his life as well as everyone she meets. Lynnece has been a great teacher and role model for the children they have brought into their home. Luke and Lynnece have worked hard together to build a loving, faith-filled, joyful home, and it is evident how much they care for their three sons: Lachlan, Jay, and Grayson. It has been a joy to have these boys a part of our family. Though we live far away, our children are always excited when they can be with their cousins. I look forward to seeing them continue to grow their happy family.

Mother of Lynnece and Mother-in- law of Luke Baker

Our daughter Lynnece has always loved to have fun. When asked to watched her siblings while her dad and I were away the other children never missed us because she did so many fun things with them. I see her and Luke doing the same things with there three boys. It could be crafts, a tent in the family room with popcorn and a movie, hiking through the Dragon's Mouth Cave, building a snowman, having one on one individual dates with each of the boys, etc. Luke and Lynnece are diligent in teaching their boys the importance of honesty, working hard, being kind and trustworthy by their example. They are always serving others and get the boys to help make cookies, cards or some craft to take to those in need. I am amazed at how much the boys know about Jesus Christ at such a young age. They are being taught each day by studying the scriptures and hearing stories of how Jesus loved everyone which helps them to show love for each other. All three of the boys love books so Luke and Lynnece spend time at the library often while the boys make their choices. Lachlan can read but still loves it when his mom or dad read to him and the other boys. The Baker family works together, plays together and are sad when any one of them is hurt or sick. I believe any child would be very blessed to be a part of this family.

Luke's Brother

Luke is one of my biggest heroes. He's always been someone I've looked up to and tried to emulate. What I admire most about Luke is his fun-loving attitude, how family-focused he is, and how he is just an all-around good person. When I'm with Luke, he's always up for a friendly board or card game, a few rounds of ping pong, a night at the movies, or a day out on the four wheelers. But he's equally interested in just relaxing and chatting about the latest books we've been reading, the shenanigans our kids have been up to, or our ambitions for the future. I can talk with Luke so easily--he strikes a perfect combination of smart, funny, emotional, and thoughtful. Luke is the kind of person I never tire of being around. In all seriousness, if I were stranded on an island and could only have one person with me, I would have no problem picking Luke. As for Lynnece, I couldn't ask for a better person to be married to my big brother. She is just as fun-loving, thoughtful, and kind. She is fun to be around, works hard, laughs easily, has tons of energy and patience, and she cooks like a pro! Lynnece is a superwoman. She takes care of three young boys, supports Luke in his work, and makes time to serve her community, friends, and extended family. Lynnece is a positive and optimistic person who finds perspective during hard times; but she's also intentional about creating fun times and good memories. Lynnece is just a fantastic person! Luke and Lynnece are an amazing couple, completely devoted to each other, and equally devoted to their kids. Their boys are their top priority, and they ensure their boys feel secure and loved. Lachlan, Jay, and Grayson are terrific kids. They are full of life and excitement, and every day is an adventure for them. They have a close bond and love being brothers to each other. My kids love when they get to play with their cousins--there's never a dull moment! I admire Luke and Lynnece and their boys' love for each other, their dedication to family and friends, and their optimistic, fun approach to life. They already are an amazing adoptive family, and would offer a life full of love for any other child who joins them.

Luke and Lynnece are not only our family but our dear friends. We admire their outlook on life and love of family. They are a fun and outgoing couple who are always looking for meaningful and memorable experiences to share with their family. Christ is the center of their home and they seek Him for guidance in all that they do. We know they strive to do their best in raising their family, serving others and being active in their faith. Luke and Lynnece have always shown love and support to us and our family. We get together often to celebrate holidays, birthdays and just to be together as family. We love being aunt and uncle to their boys, Lachlan, Grayson and Jay. Our kids love spending time with their cousins who are energetic and loving to our kids. I am a mother of seven grown children, and a retired elementary school teacher. Lynnece and Luke have been my next door neighbors to me and my husband for about 9 years. They are wonderful people, patience, thoughtful, kind, hardworking and loving parents to the three young sons they have. I love watching them teach, encourage, play with and love those boys. I highly recommend these two as adoptive parents, I would trust them with my own.

We love this family and support them in all that they do because we know and trust them to always do what is best for themselves and to do what God would want them to do. We are truly thrilled for them to expand their darling family even more! All the words listed to describe this family are absolutely true. Luke's parents

As parents, one of the happiest moments of our lives has been witnessing our own son, Luke, become a parent after long years of waiting. What a joy it has been to see him and Lynnece make contact with two expectant mothers and then welcome little Lachlan---and later Jay and Grayson--- into their own lives with an instant bond of love, not only for them, but also for their birth parents. Luke is exactly the man we always hoped he would grow up to be, tender-hearted, thoughtful, and hard working. Lynnece is the woman we prayed and hoped he would marry. She is creative, compassionate, and intelligent. With their different gifts and abilities, they complement each other well. Their marriage is filled with devotion, fun, and faith. They adore their sons, and are diligently teaching them according to their own trusted values. Together, they have established a lovely, comfortable home. They are good neighbors, attentive to their parents and siblings, and active in their church. Love is the defining quality for this family. We have observed that whenever Luke or Lynnece arrive home, they are immediately mobbed by their sons screaming, “Mommy!” or “Daddy!” as hugs and kisses are given. When one of the boys come home, he is often tackled to the ground giggling as his brothers’ arms surround him. Even grandparents are thus welcomed! This little family would welcome another child with arms and hearts open wide. And we’re so ready to love another grandchild! A child coming into this family would be greatly blessed.

Lachlan's Birth Mom

I knew right from the moment we met Luke and Lynnece that they were the epitome of what I was hoping for in a mother and father for the little guy growing inside me at the time. They embody every positive trait in the book that I could list (but I won't as that just takes up space, so if it's an awesome quality, they have most likely have it :) ). Being adventurous and loving the outdoors also drew us to them. I am not sure I ever told Luke or Lynnece this story, but while I was pregnant, I had a dream where Lynnece was holding Lachlan and I could just feel the love in the room as they both just looked at him. It was the most intense feeling I had ever had (and still brings a tear to my eye when I think about it). When I saw them with Lachlan countless times in person since then, whether they were holding him or just glancing over his way as he was playing, again, I could feel that same love and adoration for him as strongly as I had felt in that dream. This strong love is one of the things I love most about them and affirms each and every time what great people they are. Not just for Lachlan, but for each other. I love that they take time to be together just Luke and Lynnece to build and strengthen their marriage, which in turn also builds family bonds. The other great thing about Luke and Lynnece is that they are no stranger to adoption. Lynnece has adopted siblings and their families are very open people. Luke and Lynnece and their extended family immediately welcomed us with open arms as part of their family as well. It's so touching to see that they understand things on a bigger level and instead of an excluded relationships, it's one of inclusion and love. I would also consider Luke and Lynnece to be dear friends. Lynnece and I go out on occasion when we both aren't super swamped and will just grab lunch or a pedi. Luke and Lynnece are VERY honest and open. Never once have I been concerned or second guessed them for Lachlan's parents and they always check in to make sure we are feeling included and to let us know if we ever want any photos, etc, they are just a text away :). (Sorry Luke/Lynnece, I took up WAYYYY more space than I had anticipated) ...the last thing I would leave you with as you consider (I would recommend highly considering...but hey, I'm bias because I know they are awesome) is to drop them a line, I know you will come to see the same greatness and love that I have had the absolute pleasure of seeing and feeling as I got to know them. They are fabulous parents, friends, and family.

Lachlan's baptism

Lachlan was baptized last September, it was a memorable day to say the least! He has a fear of going underwater, which made baptizing him tricky. We had goggles ready for him if he wanted them, and kept silently praying through the baptismal program that his heart would be comforted. Amazingly to all those in attendance, he showed great faith and encourage and overcame his fear! He was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints. As you can see from the "after" pictures, he was very happy, and so was all the extended family, including his birth family, who came!

A Reptile Birthday

Grayson loves loves LOVES all the animals people hate or that scare them. He loves snakes, spiders, and lizards. His favorite animal? The king cobra. Jay likes these things as well, but what he loves even more is birthday parties. So we had a reptile birthday party in our back yard! Still can't believe both Grayson and Lynnece held the tarantula!
