Letter

We love taking themed pictures with our furbabies
Hello, We’re Nelson and Megan Mendez

“I love that you are making such a significant sacrifice for your child. I hope you know what a blessing you are giving to your baby!”

Hello! In truth we have written this letter probably a hundred times by now and still have struggled to master up the words that you are reading. There are no words to accurately describe what you must be feeling, nor will we truthfully every understand what you are going through right now. However, we want to start by praising you for being such an incredibly strong parent for your child and for making such a selfless decision to better their future. We recognize the great courage and strength that it takes to walk in your shoes, and we pray daily for you and your baby. Additionally, we want to thank you for even considering us and we cannot begin to express how excited we are at becoming an adoptive family. We understand that this must not be an easy decision, but please know that your bravery at this time is providing so much hope, both for us and for your child. If you do choose us to parent your child, we promise to love, protect and guide your child through life. We promise to respect your story and ensure your baby knows and understands that story. Even though we don’t know you yet, we have been praying for you and your child for a long time.

Why adoption?

“The world may not change if you adopt a child, but for that child their world will change.

Easter Sunday 2022
Adoption has been something near and dear to our hearts from the beginning of our relationship. It is something both of us have discussed and prayed about many nights . We believe without a doubt that the lord has called us to adopt and grow our family by not only a beautiful blessing of God, but by also accepting and honoring your story as a birth parent.
Meet Nelson (by megan)

Sometimes you get lucky and find a soul that grooves with yours.

Nelson on our wedding day April 17, 2021
Nelson is such an amazing individual and is hands down my favorite person in the world. I am incredibly honored to have him as my husband. Nelson is such a kind, caring, and thoughtful person. He is always putting others needs before his own. He honestly never ceases to amaze me. However, nelson only has two flaws in my opinion, one being his unwavering love for SOCCER (Hala Madrid) and two his coffee addiction. Over the seven years that I have known him he has NEVER missed a soccer game nor turned down a cup of coffee. But in all seriousness, I know Nelson is going to be an amazing father. He is so patient and loving towards our nieces and nephews. Nurturing just comes natural for nelson and children are drawn to him. I can't wait to watch nelson grow into the father I know he will be and one day be an amazing example for our future daughter or son.
Meet Megan (by Nelson)

You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had.

Megan's graduation day!
Megan is the perfect description of kindness, unconditional love, and endless support for any family member or friend. I am so proud to call her my wife because she never gives up on her dreams. She is the greatest nurse at her hospital, the best singer at our local church, and the best wife someone could ever ask for. I have no doubt that she will be an amazing mother because she always thinks about others before placing herself first. She puts herself in others shoes to better understand their needs, she accommodates and makes time for all her nieces and nephews. She loves kids and I am very sure that she will love unconditionally your child unconditionally.

Where to next?

We absolutely love to travel! Nelson is actually from El Salvador and our first trip together was to meet his family in 2019. It was Megan's first time out of the country and SURPRISE, nelson proposed! Since being married we have visited Cancun, Jamaica, and now we are headed to Italy. We are the happiest when we are boarding our next flight on our next journey together. We hope to one day share these adventures with a little one that God has planned for us.

Our furbabies

Meet Riley, Charlie, and Gizmo! For starters we adopted our sweet Riley in February of 2021. Nelson had never had an inside pet and every since we started dating he constantly stated how he wanted a dog or a bird. Needless to say, it wasn't long before we started looking at our local animal shelters. Riley is the perfect gentle giant and she truly is my first baby. Not long after we decided riley needed a little friend and we found Charlie. Charlie and Riley are thick as thieves, where one is the other is not far behind. Lastly, is Mr. Gizmo he came to us at 8 months old and has become my little shadow. We have the best time with our furbabies, the weekends are for hiking and pupcups! Our furbabies absolutely love our nieces and nephews and are ready for their own little human to enjoy!
