Letter

Hi, we're Kevin & Katie.
Hello!

You are a special person and we care about you deeply.

Even though we don't know you yet, we have been praying for the health and well being of you and your baby. No matter what you decide, we sincerely hope the best for you and your child. We cannot truly understand what you are going through, but we know you are having to make a very difficult choice. It is obvious to us that your decisions are being made from a place of love and compassion. You already are a caring parent.

If you choose to pursue an adoption plan with us, we want to share that we believe whole heartedly that a child should know and be connected to their roots. This is why it's important for us to embrace an open adoption. We want you to be pleased with your decisions and feel at peace with what the future holds. This journey can have struggles with many ups and downs. Yo...

This Is Our Story

Communication, honesty and strong faith are the cornerstone of our marriage.

When Kevin proposed
We were, and still are, active in a running group and met at a social event, a Jimmy Buffet cover band concert. We believe it was absolutely God's timing! It was so special, and we met on Valentine's Day. After that, we saw each other and got to know one another more through our running group and became friends before we began dating. We learned that we had a lot in common...love of music, family, fitness, and faith. We both enjoy the outdoors and included picnics and hiking as part of our dating journey. We got engaged on a trip to Colorado on the top of a mountain.

The following year, we were married at a beautiful church surrounded by friends and family. We are a great team, and our love and relationship grows better every day. Katie is very outgoing, bubbly, and has never met a stranger. Kevin is quieter, kind, creative, and enthusiastic. This makes for a wonderful partnership. Communication, honesty and strong faith are the cornerstone of our marriage. We both feel grateful to be blessed with one another and can't wait to share our loving home with a child through adoption.

I am proud to share that my life has been devoted to children.

Katie is a teacher
I am proud to share that my life has been devoted to children. After 22 years of teaching, I understand the many needs children may have. Both of my parents were teachers. My love for children continues to grow and my efforts to help them increase every year. My time with kiddos warms my heart and spreads joy in my life. I have referred to my students as "my babies" for decades and am very excited to be able to have a child that Kevin and I can parent together. My mom has always been my hero. Watching her be a mom has made me dream to be an amazing mom as well. I was raised within a faithful Christian family and had friends around me to support our values. Our respect for all life has been valued for our entire lives. My dad, brother, and sister have also been a part of my life and continue to encourage and support me. Both of my siblings have been married for many years and are each blessed with four amazing children. This dedication and selfless living is in our future with the grace of God blessing us with a family.

Many of my favorite things to do are enjoyed outside. A few of them are running, hiking, golfing, and yard "work." I also love to sing, dance, and enjoy yoga, too.

I am fortunate to have found a career that I love.

I am fortunate to have found a career that I love. Katie and I both are fortunate. I work in creative services at a tv station as a video producer. I have been working there for over 20 years within different positions. It allows me to work on all sorts of different projects and is always interesting. I also do freelance and production work for businesses, individuals, and not for profits. I enjoy volunteering at an organization for veterans, local missions, and Special Olympics.

I love to listen to music and going to concerts. Sunday mornings I play the guitar and sing in the choir (Katie too) at our church. I really enjoy fitness and eating healthy. Katie and I make it a point to have that as part of our daily lives. I also like beekeeping which is a project I have been doing the last several years with my sister. Every chance I get I am outdoors hiking or running on trails. I am blessed to have found Katie, and we are really excited to share our lives and love with a child through adoption.

We Promise

We believe God has placed you and your child in the world with great purpose. We feel love in our hearts for you and your child, and we haven't even met yet. Our promise to each other when we were married continues years later. We promise you that our love and devotion to one another is endless. Our burning desire for a family grows more and more every day. We will share our commitment with you and promise to be a caring and loving family. We promise to provide a happy and safe place that your child can call home. We promise to be encouraging, supportive, and honest no matter who your child becomes. We believe it is important to honor the child's roots so they know their history and how they became a part of our tribe. We promise to embrace your child and give them unconditional love, always! We promise we will be a family that keeps their word... to you and to your child. We promise to make sure that they know their story started because they were loved so dearly by you. Forever and ever. We are so thankful that you have decided to give life to your baby, and we feel blessed that you are considering us as potential parents. It is our promise to put our family first and foremost in our lives. Our faith in God confirms that we have been connected with you. May you feel our love and hope. May God's strength be with you every step of the way.

Our Favorite Traditions

Kevin and I are both blessed with large families. Both "sides" of our families enjoy each other's company at events like birthday parties, holiday gatherings, and Sunday brunches. It is part of our family tradition to pray before meals, enjoy the blessing of food, and appreciate the quality time we have together. We have celebrated my dear mother-in-law's 90th birthday with a HUGE surprise birthday party. It was an unforgettable event. My parents just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and we enjoyed that special time as well. Naming favorites is a challenge, but these two celebrations are like no other. Family memories are precious to us.

This Is Our Home

We live in a very close-knit community. The population is around 4,500 residents. We enjoy the neighbors and friends we have made here. Kevin has lived in our town his whole life, and I was excited to move here after we were married. Our Church is just a few minutes away from our home and the local fire department runs on volunteers. We have a 4th of July parade that goes right by our house. Our family will come and watch with us before a picnic later in the day. A local pharmacy and grocery store are two examples of local family traditions that continue in our town. We enjoy the beautiful park just blocks away from our home. Our downtown riverfront is also close by and provides a number of fun activities year round. We have the convenience of a larger city "right next door." Our home, sweet home is simple and welcoming. We spend a lot of time on our patio in our backyard. We enjoy our flowers, bushes, trees, and our friends (feathers and fur). Our bird feeders are enjoyed by dozens of birds everyday, which is a beautiful scene to watch. We feel peace in this space and hope to share our home with our future family.

Why Adoption?

Kevin and I were blessed to be brought together later in our lives. We have tried for years to have a biological child. We chose to explore fertility treatments and were unsuccessful in conceiving a baby. The reality of infertility has been a hard and painful journey, but we have grown closer as a couple and to God through it all. We believe that God's plan for our family includes adoption and so we began this journey!
