Thank you so much for taking the time to look at our profile! We’re excited to meet you and learn more about you. We will never be able to understand how difficult this process is for you, but we do know you will be blessed as you make the best choice for you and your child.
We met in May 2008 and married April 11, 2009 in the Rexburg, Idaho LDS temple. We have always talked about having children, and in April 2016 we were so blessed to add a sweet baby boy to our family through adoption. His name is Riley and we love having an open adoption with his birth parents and their families!

Todd: 4th of 6 kids, loves most things nerdy, outdoorsy, and food. Enjoys cooking, watching movies, making people laugh, and is the favorite uncle. Loves being a father and providing for the family. Dreams of traveling the world taking pictures with Kristen, and becoming a Jedi. Born in Moab, Utah and grew up in Florida and North Carolina. Graduated from UVU with a degree in Art and Visual Communication..
Kristen: 4th of 5 kids, loves baking, taking naps, and visiting pet stores. Enjoys a good book, living close to family and friends, and has a secret stash of chocolate in her purse (shhh.. don't tell Todd!). She loves being able to spend the day hanging out with Riley! Dreams of helping others, and traveling the world. Born and raised in Rexburg, Idaho and graduated from BYU-Idaho with a degree in Health Science.
Stella (our dog): Loves taking naps, snuggling, and pretending to be a human. Came into our family October 2014 and feels like she's been a part of our family forever.
Riley: Loves eating yummy food, playing outside, spending time with friends and family, going to school, coloring and painting wonderful creations, hanging out with his birth parents, and making everyone fall in love with him. Born in Idaho and became a part of our family April 2016. We can't imagine our lives without him and can't wait to see him as an older brother!
Todd, Kristen and Riley: Love eating good food, trying new things, going on adventures, spending time with family and friends, and being ridiculous together. Every day is a new adventure, and we can't wait for more to come!

We love having an open adoption with Riley's birth parents- they are such great people. We have been blessed to live pretty close to them (a 3 hour drive) and we visit as often as we can (which ends up being several times a year) and keep in contact by texting and posting pictures on Instagram a couple of times a week. Soon after Riley was born we set up an Instagram account for Riley just for his birth parents to follow so we can post pictures of him often. It's a great way to share pictures, events, and memories with them! We love that Riley will grow up knowing just how much his birth parents and their families love him. We feel that adoption is such a great way to bring families together and to create lasting friendships and memories. We believe that we aren't just adopting a child, but a whole family! We hope to have a similar relationship with our future birth parents, as long as that is something everyone is comfortable with.

We know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. Sometimes His plan isn’t the easiest, but it helps us to become the person that He wants us to be. Not long ago, Kristen and Todd hauled all of their freshly washed, still-wet clothing to the laundry mat to be dried. This was their weekly routine for about a month. A Starling had built a cozy nest for her babies in the Anderson’s dryer vent. Of course, Todd and Kristen would much rather be inconvenienced for several weeks than destroy the nest and the baby birds’ chance of survival. To me, this story perfectly illustrates the type of people Todd and Kristen are. They care deeply about each other, their families, their friends, their church (and subsequent callings), their dog, their work and their play. And because of their intense enthusiasm for enjoying life, they don’t mind going out of their way to serve, love and support those they care about. Todd and Kristen most definitely hold the title of favorite Uncle and Aunt! The nieces and nephews, on both sides of the family, are drawn to Todd and Kristen. I think it is because of the genuine interest that Kris and Todd have for them. The children love that they are both fun, energetic and usually have treats to share. The parents love that they are patient, willing to entertain and have a sound sense of judgement. I have a difficult time articulating just how great I think Todd and Kristen are. They really are amazing people with huge hearts. I love their zest for life. I admire their concern for each other and the precious relationship they have. I honestly feel very privileged to call them family. I think they will make wonderful parents.

I've agonized over what to write about Todd and Kristen that would sound impressive but genuine. It's hard to describe someone who means so much to you without sounding cliche. I want to convey how loving and fun they are, how funny and adventurous and kind. I want to make you understand how completely they love and respect one another and how strong their family relationships are. I wish you could see how hilarious they both are, especially together, and how just genuinely nice they are to others. I wish you could watch them interact with my children and see for yourself the love and tenderness and compassion they have. Most of all, I wish you could understand that Todd and Kristen are parents. They are parents without children. They have the ability and desire and instinct that it takes to be parents, and are now just waiting for the child who will be blessed by those qualities.

Todd And Kristen have been some of the most understanding and kindest people to me. We all go through very difficult times in our lives and during my difficult time, Todd and Kristen were very much a source of comfort and strength for me. These are loyal friends, happy people, and just a down-right, fun family to be around. Todd and Kristen share some qualities that are sure to rub off on you if you get to know them. First, they are loyal friends. I genuinely feel their love and concern for me, they loved to be loved and love to give love. Secondly, they have a good overall balance. Todd has a way of always seeing the bright side. Sometimes I just want to shake him and say, "Wake up! Be a grump with me!" but he is determined to be happy. Even in his hardest moments his attitude is one of optimism. Kristen has a hidden sense of humor that could make you wet your pants. When I first met Kristen, I honestly had no idea how she and Todd could "work". (She's going to kill me but... meh, it's a good day to get the stink eye ). I think Kristen just likes to warm up to people before she unleashes her hidden humorous abilities. It makes her very unique and very enjoyable to be around. If you were to hang out with Kristen and Todd on a normal day, you would walk away with memories chalk full of laughter, love and an unnecessary-but-totally-cool comic book factoid (from Todd of course. Kristen is still a young Padawan... Todd is diligently working on her...). If my words were to leave one impression on your mind, it would be this: Todd and Kristen are not perfect (say wha?!). No one is perfect. However, in the years that I have known them, I have yet to see a single reason why I can't trust them or love them completely. They are happy people and have their sights set on an eternal family. You will love them too.
