Bill & Lindsay

Hoping to Adopt (Iowa)

Letter

Hello!

It's going to get better.

Hi from Lindsay and Bill
You found us! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us; we are very much looking forward to getting to know you! We don't know what you've experienced up to this point, but we respect how you are courageously considering adoption. A phrase that has helped us through some hard times is "it is going to get better!" While we were still dating, Lindsay was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She told Bill he could hit the road if he wanted to, but he stuck around! The vulnerability of it all brought us closer and taught us to rely on God and each other, and we got married later that year. Both of us have wanted to be parents since we were very small, so treatment-caused infertility has turned us to adoption. Perhaps it's true that hardship brings people together, which is how we know that we and you are going to be okay, and we'll make it okay together.
A Little About Us

Life can be messy, but we love it for all its ups and downs, because as long as we're together we find happiness and gratitude.

We were married in 2018 in Arizona
When we met, Lindsay thought it was romantic that Bill had lived in Italy and could speak Italian. Bill's dad was in the military, so he spent his early years overseas, and later served a mission in Italy. His family moved to San Diego when he was 9, and he lived there until he moved to Arizona for dental school. Lindsay grew up an Idaho girl, where she learned to love potatoes and the cello. Since potatoes and music can be found everywhere, she left for Arizona after college to teach school orchestra. When we met we immediately loved how easy it was to talk and laugh together! Bill was first attracted to how Lindsay's greatest desire in life is to be a full-time mom, her love of life, and how she finds joy in simple things. Lindsay loved that Bill has a strong desire and plan to support a family, that he teases her (shh! don't tell him that!), and that he treats her better than anyone she's ever met. Our conversation topics range from everyday life to music theory, ideas for fantasy stories to deep gospel thoughts. We are fans of buttery popcorn, watching nerdy lecture series about ancient civilizations, walks in the park, and cooking together. We both love kids and compete for the title of favorite when it comes to our nieces and nephews. We also spend a lot of time working with the youth at church. We're so excited to have children in our own family someday soon! Life can be messy, but we love it for all its ups and downs, because as long as we're together we find happiness and gratitude.
What We Like Best

Bill has a gift for making those near him feel seen, important, and cared for. Lindsay genuinely listens to and loves children, and makes them feel special and capable.

We love trying new things together.
Lindsay says: I always feel loved and safe with Bill! He is gentle, kind, and I know I can talk with him about anything on my mind. He lightens my mood when I feel stressed, makes me laugh, and teases me. He is responsible and service-oriented; when he sees a need in the house, he jumps to fill it. We are equal partners and he takes my ideas and opinions seriously. Bill is a master of being aware of other people and their emotions and needs. He's going to be a great dad because he has a gift for making those near him feel seen, important, and cared for. He is committed to providing for our family and wants to have positive relationships with our children.

Bill says: Everyone likes Lindsay and gravitates to her. She's fun and quick to get involved in an activity or adventure, and she's fearless in trying new things. Her students look up to her as more than just a teacher, but a mentor, friend, and confidant. If someone isn't happy, she notices and is quick to cheer them up. She cares about people and kids and strives to do what is best, for herself and for them. She is natural around children, and they are quick to show affection towards her. She is eager to learn and improve, and genuine and honest in everything about her. I know she'll make a good mother because she is willing to put someone else first, listen to and love them, and make them feel special and capable.
If We Had More Time...

Our hearts are with you.

We're ready to grow with you.
There is more to us than we can put on this profile, and we want to get to know you in return! Feel free to reach out, ask questions, and share a little of your journey with us. We're new to adoption, and we surely don't know what is best for you and for the precious child you bear. We are hopeful if we communicate and trust in God, we can work together to create the best possible outcome for all of us.
Our hearts are with you, and we know that you will make a choice that blesses your life and the life of your beautiful little one.

Love, Bill and Lindsay
