Brett & Jessica

Hoping to Adopt (Virginia)

Letter

Our (short version) story

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us and our family.

Our (short version) story
You are awesome
At the age of 19, Jessica was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. This put a halt to almost every aspect of her life outside of doctors visits. After help from many medical professionals and an excellent support system, she has learned to manage this illness and it’s side effects.

Brett and Jess met and fell in love while working together as Resident Assistants over Freshmen housing at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah. During our courtship, we decided one of the most important goals we could have is to become parents and rear children with faith in God. In all 6 homes we have lived in throughout our marriage, we have had a spare room, hoping against hope that we could use it as a nursery instead of merely an office/study. During these moves we have lived in Utah, Texas, and now Virginia, making many friends and learning valuable lessons along the way.

After several years of facing the pains of Lupus and infertility, we were led quite miraculously to the world of adoption. With renewed hope and faith, we are anxiously engaged in searching to grow our family. We have been blessed with the knowledge that there are children being prepared to join our family. We will be eternally grateful to the parents that bring them into our lives and hearts.
We Believe...

Our mission as parents is to help our children reach their full potential in this life and the eternities through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

We Believe...
We try our best to center our lives on Jesus Christ and know that everything is possible with His help.
We are all children of loving Heavenly Parents. We know God loves all his children. He is mindful of you and your baby. He is aware of all of our circumstances and listens to our prayers. We know that He will guide you as birth parents, and us as adoptive parents, to a crossroads to bless the life of this little one.

You are so strong. The decision to place your baby for adoption is not an easy one and is the most selfless thing a mother can do. We cannot express the amount of respect and love we have for you. We hope you will consider placing your child with our family.

As parents, it is our sacred duty to rear children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. We look forward to providing love and security, to celebrating milestones (big and small), and to being there in life’s tough moments.

We believe that Gods work and glory is to “bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39). Our mission as parents is to help our children reach their full potential in this life and the eternities through the atonement of Jesus Christ.
